What is the role of a cookie?
An Internet cookie is a small packet of data or a text file. It usually contains the name of a website and a unique user ID. Also called “computer cookies,” “browser cookies,” “Internet cookies,” or “HTTP cookies,” the Internet cookies are created and sent by the websites and stored on your computer or browser each time you request information from a site. This cookie file can only be read by its issuer, who is allowed, during its validity period, to recognize the affected device each time it accesses digital content containing cookies from said issuer. The cookie does not personally identify you, but only your device’s browser. When accessing our websites, a banner pops up. According to your choice, cookies will be stored on your computer, smartphone, tablet, mobile device, etc. The information collected in that way can be used by the consulted site or by a third party. You can erase them from your device at any moment. There are various types of cookies and various ways to block them. You have the possibility to refuse the registration of cookies on your device, and you can do so at any time via your browser by following the procedure described in appendix A.
